Ship Simulator Extremes

August 26th, 2010

Always wanted to steer one of these huge tankers or container ships? Always wanted to see how a hovercraft acts? Or a speedboat? Haven’t got the nuts to help greenpeace in real? Then finally, there’s a solution, and it is called “Ship Simulator Extremes”. No matter how blamed (for good reason) the Simulator Genre is, this game is a total standout. It may haven’t got Anti-Aliasing but hell, it still looks excellent. The models are detailed and seemingly there was some love put into this when you see a camera lieing around on a table. When you see features like water canons and towing boats with anchor points you know, someone did think while he was doing this. The Campaign delivers hours of entertainment in several completly different missions, in one you have to stop these industrial capitalists from throwing barrels into the sea while riding with greenpeace, in another one you take around the tourists. Sadly I wasn’t able to test the Multiplayer Part of the game because there were no Servers at the time of testing, we will deliver a rating and insight for this later.

What is this game about? Well I can’t answer this question for sure, but I know that it must be something cool. This is one of the many indie games that deserve a badge “Well done good Sir!”. This game has so much features, for example you can take photos of hints you found and just access them from your PDA later. basically, the game is a Jump and Run about traveling through space, and hell, it feels great. You control the game completly with your keyboard, the graphics are nice and clear, the menues are genuis, the hacking minigames are great and different everytime and I really dont know what else to say, this game just should be played.

This game is upside down…

…literary. If you play “And Yet It Moves” you surely can’t tell where the bottom and the top is after the first minutes of playtime, because the main gameplay element of AYIM is turning the world around you. You manipulate the physics around you and on yourself with the left and right buttons. If you press either one of them you can turn gravity around you for 90 degrees, influencing you and any non static element around. This allows you to get through the levels in an all new way. There is a man-high wall in front of you? Just turn the world, walk forward and jump through the new hole in the floor.

Zero Day

August 22nd, 2010

I just watched the movie Zero Day which shows the video logs of 2 guys planning their amok-run, and well, it’s a fucking good movie, of course not judging the things these guys did in it, but showing how they keep their heads down and are completly crazed.

Watch it on your own and just think about it:

So much to write about…

August 18th, 2010

…and I still don’t do it. I’ve been busy doing other stuff, still sometimes wanted to write for this Blog, but never happened for some reason. Well here I am, writing that I am probably going to write about something somewhen. I’m so cheap.

Update:
I got my ass moving and cleaned the page, deleted lots of un-needed posts, set all the tags (for real this time) and hopefully gonna overhaul the page in the next few days.

Android (on 1.6)

July 30th, 2010

Since my iPhone went swimming with me, I had to find an alternative, and since I had several Androids, I decided to try them.

I started with a HTC Magic, and it was a real pain. Everything slow and unstable, no apps…

So I moved on to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, and surprise surprise, SE still meets up to what it means to me. Fast, smooth, no crashes and decent hardware gave me a whole new Droid experience. Even while Im missing a lot through the old firmware, I can live with this phone.

The Comment Spam Mafia

February 13th, 2010

Today a new version of comment spam came and visited my blog, a kind of intelligent version that doesnt just add hundreds of tags, it tries to attemp telling me my RSS feed doesnt work and it’s a subscriber.

Sure, with looking up EMail, IP and Website, it was clear its just a spam bot, that wants to be tagged as no spam, so it can start spaming again!
I mainly know that because all feeds work perfect, also on Opera (STFU Bot), but I am sure the bot’s creator speculated that most users use Internet explorer (or Firefox), but I always check if my content works on other browsers too, does not mean I always fix some Firefox exclusive features (Like round edges) and add them for IE, but thats just a style thing.

So, shut up bot, you wont get untaged, and Aksiment rules, it also marks this kind of spam (:

Over, Cobra.

World of Warcraft

February 13th, 2010

The game played by thousands, and may one of the games with the most active cracked/private servers.
I played the game on a quite good private and on a funserver last year, and actually, it isnt that bad!
Raiding with friends or at least people you’ve met before can be quite fun as long as your mates arent dumbshits. I havent played in Arenas, I only did go around killing Monsters to level and get to level 1000 (on the fun server), with others, leveling can even be fun, but most of the time its just boring. And that is what makes this game fail for me. Farming is more then 75% of the playtime, just click a enemy, maybe use some spells and wait for it to die, take the loot and repeat. And do that again and again. And you cant even fight a higher leveled enemy… After all that joined a Guild, yeah, most Guilds on WoW are only to be in one or/and wear a stupid Name. Often leveled with the Guilds Leader and soon was prompted to second in command, one day just didn’t appear anymore.

The game just is boring. Boring as hell, so it gets a total of:

iPhone

February 7th, 2010

As I mentioned on Twitter before, I have an iPhone 3G now.
Im writing this post in panorama mode, first time I use it, since it only is good for writing.
So, the main question everyone asks, is the iPhone worth its money? Definatly not.
Why do I own one then? Because I’ve got it ways cheaper then it is usualy.
Also, an iPhone that isnt jailbreaked just has half the abbilities.
The main thing that sells the iPhone, is the huge amount of apps, thats also the reason for fakes to be senseless.
Also, labels often are good quality, that maybe applies here too, but sure not about the accesories. My headphone cable (literary) broke after one week of normal usement.
I use my iPhone for browsing the web, but only to visit standard pages, you cant really lurk around random pages on the iPhone.
There are also awesome games, like Pocket God, which use every aviable bit of the iPhone’s features to entertain you. And man, its a 99c app!
Also the abbility to update all my podcasts in one tool and then listen to them is another cool fact.
I personaly do not have any song on my iPhone, but nearly every bit of space is taken.

Now I am too lazy to continue writing this, I hope I covered most facts that you care about.
